Daniel McGinty is an American artist who paints in the realist tradition. Born in 1963, his life has been defined by a passion for creativity, which he has expressed through his love of painting for over 15 years. He was fortunate to have grown up in a family where creative arts, theater, and music were highly valued, and his early interests in drawing and design were encouraged. With his wife and two grown daughters, that tradition continues today.
Daniel is a self-taught painter who most often paints landscapes, portraits, and figurative works, but whose canvases also include cityscapes, still life, and imaginative realism. He lives near Seattle, WA, in the great Pacific Northwest, where he is able to draw endless inspiration from the beauty of nature that abounds in the region. You will find, however, that Daniel’s paintings may depict interesting places and subjects from destinations far from his Seattle home, as Dan and his wife are very fond of traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. Daniel’s landscapes often invite the viewer to experience a quiet serenity; the emotion that he himself seeks when exploring the natural world that he loves. Other works, such as his portraits and figurative art, aim to capture the spirit and essence of the model who inspired them and can be alluring, seductive, contemplative, or simply playful. Above all, Daniel paints what he likes, the beauty that he sees in the world around him. Daniel is an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America.
